No hidden fingerprinting

Neara stores a random, signed device cookie plus a one-way, coarse network/browser abuse signal. On a different browser or device, Telegram login restores the card by Telegram’s immutable account ID—not by a changeable username.

Your precise device location is stored privately for geographical matching; other people see only a rounded distance estimate. Exploring another area never changes your saved location. After 7 inactive days, your card pauses in discovery; your profile and matches remain saved until you delete them. Returning to Neara makes your published card active again. If you manually delete, the live card and photos disappear immediately; a limited operational snapshot is retained privately for moderation for 90 days, then erased. Restricted rolling backups expire after 14 days and are used only for disaster recovery.

Private NSFW choices are never shown to other members. They are available in Neara’s protected moderation console for safety and platform operations.
